The most important thing I learned this semester is how to correctly argue a topic, how to structure it, and what points to look for. I learned what to say and what not to say to persuade your audience. For example, if trying to persuade a smoker to keep smoking who is thinking about quitting, you would mention things to support it like the fact of it being a stress reliever rather than the fact that it kills them. I learned to properly cite a paper and how to use the library (and how to spell it... inside joke), and its databases. I also learned how to produce a paper with the required credentials without bs-ing my way through it. I also learned how to use my sources to complete a project. In highschool, I wrote what I felt or searched and did not put as much emphasis into it. I didn't even know what a thesis sentence was in highschool and didn't care too much about finding out. I learned that college is SERIOUS!

Sources
For my sources, i plan to use photo magazines and the USCA library site. I want sources that have to do with the newest cameras and ones that have the ups and downs of photoshop. I will use magazines with prices. I want any source that shows the expensiveness and complications of having to deal with difficulties of newer cameras and software.

Prospectus
I plan to do my project on how technology (photoshop in particular) is replacing the natural "classic" artist abilities. the true artist, whether painter, photographer, or drawer who has a true passion for their work are being somewhat cheated because a student in a photoshop class can just as easily do the same thing through a computer whether better or worse and maybe quicker. Yes moving on in technology is good but does that make the natural artist useful? Yes creating art on photoshop can make you an artist, but what about natural abilities? A project form photoshop can also be charged to the computers abilities, tho it is man made, which also means that you can only go as far as the computer was programmed by "another person" will let you. Again, I am not sayin photoshop is bad but it does take away from the natural artist.

#7 Me and technology
My family's main mode of communication is textin... tho we do use different means... we use them all actually... from textin to email to phone calls to mail to fax to sign langauge to direct verbal communications to flying pigeons, telepathic signals, and smoke signals... okay maybe jus a little too far with the last three... but the top three would be textin, email, and phone other than direct verbal. Again, textin being the main soure. Its the new fad and we have even shown the older generation in our family how to do it (we being the younger generation). Its cheaper than calls, very quick and so discreet. You can almost do it anywhere... church school home work... bad i kno but better than leavin for a phone call or bein very loud and answering in front of company. Textin is takin over emails. It is possible to set up meetings, arrangements and plans without even talking. I think it has so many direct outlooks, it would make a great research topic

this really helped me see more of what dr. Fornes was lookin for... I seem to understand how to break the text down to explain what i need to explain. I am somewhat grasping the idea as time progresses. quality of thought, clarity of purpose, use of sources, organization of content, language and style, grammar and mechanic errors are very important factors to have in producing a great paper. i am using the skills i already have, what i learned and these six skills to produce a better paper

#5 Sample Papers
Foreign Athletic Limits- B- I gave this paper a B because to me it does demonstrate the 6 skills. Although it does have a few grammatical errors. Overall it stays on point and it does declare its thesis to be correct. I do not agree at all, but my opinion doesnt matter... Im just grading.
Online College vs. Online High School- C- This paper received this grade because to me, it lacked on the organization of content and grammer. It seem to go back and forth between topics to me. Thesis wise... it stayed on subject.
Predisposed to Divorce- A- If any paper out of the group received an A, it would be this one because it displays the 6 skills well. Very few grammatical errors. It had nice diction and stayed on topic with decent points to support the thesis.
NAACP CASE AGAINST GUN MANUFACTURERS- C-/D+ - This paper was a little harder to grade because, oddly enough it kinda stayed on topic but wandered a little. I guess I can say that it lacks on the organization of content skill. I didnt see many grammatical errors though. I also could not identify a thesis statement.
